Hello Claire! I'm glad to meet you. Thank you for reading about our journey, and for your prayers. I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. I can't imagine. For the my blog, there's some way for you to add your email to get notification about the posts. I'm not sure how...it's in the blog somehow. I'm not managing the site. I'll try to figure it out if you can't! Teena has my phone number. Please feel fre to reach out. I'd love to chat. Diane

I am Mark's cousin-Claire Hrehocik Boyd, RN, retired. I've been wanting to connect with you for a while, but in the past through all this time, I haven't been successful- maybe it's my fault. So I have been getting info updates from my brother John, and from Teena. And I have been praying for you and your family every day, You are a hero, and your online journeying throughout has be especially positive.
I lost my husband in February 2002. He had lung cancer which kept metastising through out his body, including adrenal glands and then to the brain stem. After two years it wasn't more than six weeks before it ended in his death. The last two weeks of that was daily loss of functions. My family and I cared for him at home with Hospice participating. I kept journaling in a notebook through this time.
You are having a more intricate journey, and I commend both of you for your bravery.
Please put me on you site. Thanks.

I believe that “pishing” is the Yiddish word for the the same word, with an “s” substituted for the “h.” Kinda makes it even funnier. “Laughter and humility will lighten up your heavy load...” (Joni Mitchell, Refuge of the Road.

Oh, dear. Your happy photo lifts my heart - you both look extremely well. May it continue.
I have to apologize; your descriptions of Mark's word jumbles, and analogies of what's happening as he heals had me giggling out loud, even as the progress he's making is gratifying to read, and I applaud.

Thank you for sharing your journey. I pray for you both.
